Summer Puppet Camps!

Don't miss Paul Mesner Puppet Camps! 

During the month of August children can spend a week learning about different styles of puppetry, how to make and perform with a variety of puppets and how to adapt stories into puppet shows while using music and sound effects to support their performance. Camps will take place at the Paul Mesner Puppet Studio and classes are available for all ages over 6 years. 

Session one runs August 1-5, 2011 with a morning camp for ages 6 and 7 and an afternoon camp for ages 8 and up. Session two runs August 8-12 for ages 10 and older, with three different classes in either video puppetry, costume making for puppets and dolls or learning ventriloquism!

The Paul Mesner Puppets is looking for dynamic designers, including students working toward a degree in scenography, who are seeking professional theater experience. Live puppet theater provides a unique challenge and something to make your portfolio stand out in a tough job market. Puppetry is increasingly being utilized in production and design for everything from Circque Du Solei to Broadway, Fringe Festivals to major Motion Pictures.
The Paul Mesner Puppet Theater is looking for talented designers who are interested in designing for our 2011-2012 season, as well as future projects.

Founded in 1987, The Paul Mesner Puppets performed for over 55,000 individuals last year alone. Collaborations and Commissions include the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, The Civic Opera Theater, Owen/Cox Dance, The Kansas City Repertory Theater, and many more!
